Warts are common,contagious,usually benignepithelialpapillomascausedby the humanpapillomavirus. In Part 1of this two-partessay, the etiologic,biologic,and clinicalcharacteristics,as well as msdignaattransformationin warts, are discussed.Usingthe ISI@databaw, we’ve identifiedthe most activeresearchfrontsduringthe past decadeand their relationshipto other medicalproblems.
